Austen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Asset Management and a minor in Economics from Ashland University. In his time at Ashland University, Austen started linebacker for the varsity football team and helped lead his team to an undefeated conference championship. While attending college, he interned at a financial planning firm in his hometown of Granville, Ohio.
Austen earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2016 and is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) and Financial Planning Association (FPA). He attends various conferences focused on wealth management and enjoys public speaking on financial planning and personal finance topics. He has given educational presentations to non-profits, community foundations, professional organizations, colleges and small businesses.
Austen is an active member on Summit’s Wealth Management Committee providing research and support for implementation of estate, tax, and retirement planning ideas. Austen specializes in building comprehensive financial plans, retirement cash flow management and executive compensation.
Austen currently resides in New Albany, Ohio, where he enjoys reading, playing guitar, studying the bible and weight training in his spare time. Austen also enjoys traveling and finding new places to mountain bike with his wife, Vogue.
