Austen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and Asset Management and a minor in Economics from Ashland University.  In his time at Ashland University, Austen started linebacker for the varsity football team and helped lead the Eagles to an undefeated conference championship.  Austen interned at a financial planning firm in his hometown of Granville, Ohio and joined the Summit team upon graduating.

Austen earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 2016 and is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Financial Planning Association (FPA), and Columbus Estate Planning Council. He attends various conferences focused on wealth management and enjoys public speaking on financial planning and personal finance topics. He has given educational presentations to non-profits, community foundations, professional organizations, colleges, and small businesses.

In addition to Austen’s lead advisor responsibilities, he is an active member on Summit’s Wealth Management Committee, where he chairs the Estate Planning sub-committee. He also provides research and support for implementation of tax and retirement planning ideas. Austen specializes in building comprehensive financial plans, retirement cash flow management and executive compensation.

Austen currently resides in Westerville, Ohio, where he enjoys traveling and finding new places to mountain bike with his wife, Vogue. He also enjoys spending time with his brothers and sisters in Christ, playing guitar, and competing in Spartan Races.
