Ben Murray was born and raised in central Ohio, and didn’t travel far for college, attending the University of Dayton. He received two degrees from UD – his Bachelor of Science degree in 2010, with majors in Finance and Business Economics, and his Master of Business Administration in 2011, with a concentration in Finance. He also played soccer for the Flyers, helping lead the men’s soccer team to its first NCAA tournament appearance in school history in 2008. And yet, he claims his biggest accomplishment at UD was meeting his now wife, Kathleen (who may have been an even better soccer player in her day than Ben).

Ben joined Summit in October 2016 after several years working in various roles in the banking industry, and he became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® professional in 2017. He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and previously served more than three years on the board of the local chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). In addition to his work as an Advisor, Ben currently serves as Summit’s Director of Planning, a role that tasks him with helping to coordinate the firm’s various processes and systems to ensure consistent and accurate service to Summit’s clients on a wide range of financial planning topics.
